FlexConnect Energy Inc. ("FlexConnect," "we," "us," or "our") is a federally incorporated Canadian company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We provide demand response aggregation services to industrial and commercial electricity customers in Alberta.

 

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how FlexConnect collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal and operational information in connection with our demand response programs and website (flex-connect.ca).

 

3. What We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to deliver our services, including:

  • Site contact information (name, title, email, phone)
  • Facility and electrical load information
  • Interval energy consumption and performance data
  • Communications related to program participation

 

4. How We Use It

We use this information solely to:

  • Administer demand response program participation
  • Submit bids and reports to the grid/market operator
  • Evaluate and report on asset performance
  • Communicate with participants about dispatch events and payments
  • Improve our forecasting and service delivery

 

5. Who We Share It With

We do not sell or rent your information. We disclose it only to:

  • The grid/market operator as required for program administration (currently Alberta Electric System Operator / AESO)
  • Our program partner CLEAResult, under a confidentiality agreement
  • Third parties where required by applicable law or regulation

 

6. Legal Basis

FlexConnect operates in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of Alberta.

 

7. Data Retention

We retain participant data for the duration of your agreement with FlexConnect plus three (3) years, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required by law.

 

8. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

 

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Withdraw consent to data collection, with the understanding that this may affect your ability to participate in our programs
